Pray
The Community Bible Study ministry began as an answer to prayer and we continue to lift up every aspect of the ministry to God. We welcome your continuous prayer support. If you would like to see the specific needs of CBS, please look at our monthly Prayer Calendar. Thank you!
Your Contribution to the CBS Ministry
The mission of Community Bible Study is to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ in our communities through caring, in-depth Bible Study available to all. CBS is non-denominational, with the leadership of each class coming from the local area and representing a broad cross section of the Christian community. CBS leaders are volunteers, called by God, who love the Lord and His Word, and receive no monetary compensation. Only the employees at the National Service Center and some of the CBSI Servants Team are compensated.
Each individual class, as well as the ministry as a whole, is financially supported through the contributions of class members and alumni. Although there is no set fee for the course, CBS invests approximately $85 per year to provide the Bible study lessons to each class member. This includes a $25 registration fee. Class members may contribute weekly, or give the entire amount at the beginning of the class year, or by semesters ($30 in September and $30 in January). When a class member contributes more than $85 during a class year, the IRS allows the additional amount to be tax-deductible. Tax receipts will be issued from the National Service Center to all donors who request them and for all individual donations equal to or greater than $250, as required by the IRS.
All giving in CBS is voluntary. Class members unable to contribute may freely attend. We never want anyone to feel pressured to give, and scholarships are always available. Class members able to do so give more to cover the costs of operating this growing ministry. Offerings support the CBS Children's Ministry, Student Ministry, InPrison, CBSI, Leadership Training, love gifts back to the host churches, and the development of new materials and classes. CBS classes reach people in every age group—adults, students, and children. We have a wonderful opportunity to invest in the lives of future generations as we continue to make available this powerful study of God's Word.
Community Bible Study is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) and conducts a yearly audit using the services of an outside auditing firm. Every year since its inception, CBS has received a clean audit. We consider good stewardship of contributed funds a responsibility and privilege and seek to use contributions wisely to further the understanding of God's Word.
Community Bible Study classes are reaching every age group: men, women, teenagers, and children. We have a wonderful opportunity to invest in the lives of future generations as we continue to make available this study of God's Word and fulfill our mission "to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ in our communities through caring, in-depth Bible Study available to all."
