Non-English Speaking (USA)

“Ethnos” is a Greek word meaning nations. Our neighborhoods, communities, schools, and cities are multicultural and represent many nations. USA-Ethnos is a CBS ministry that reaches out to the “nations” within United States—bringing the life-transforming benefits of in-depth Bible study to people whose first language is not English.

USA-Ethnos emerged from the heart of CBSI in 2010. It became clear that CBSI translated materials used around the world could benefit the hundreds of thousands living here in theUnited States. God’s Word could be read, studied, shared, and listened to in their “heart language.” In keeping with the mission of CBS, “To make disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ in our communities through caring, in-depth Bible studies available to all,” courses were made available and began to be used in three ways—Core Groups, Classes, and Churches.

CBS classes can participate in God’s mandate to make disciples of all nations when helping foreign-language speakers become involved in the study of God’s Word through USA-Ethnos ministries. CBS has a golden opportunity to reach out to our communities and neighborhoods sharing the Word of God with those whose heart language is other than English.

This obedient response to the Great Commission will enrich each class that is led by the Lord to become involved. Foreign-language Core Groups provide a bridge toward extending the ministry around the world, strengthening local churches, and solidifying unity in the worldwide body of Christ.

“For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. … Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever receives the One I send receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives the One who sent Me.”
