God thunders wondrously with his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend … Therefore, brothers and sisters, be patient until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth and is patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains. You also must be patient. Strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near … Brothers and sisters, take the prophets who spoke in the Lord’s name as an example of suffering and patience. See, we count as blessed those who have endured. You have heard of Job’s endurance and have seen the outcome that the Lord brought about—the Lord is compassionate and merciful. Job 37:5; James 5:7-8, 10-11 (Christian Standard Bible)
Sovereign Lord and Merciful Shepherd,
The ministry of Community Bible Study comes before You today, through prayer and fasting, to thank You for Your faithfulness and steadfast love. We want nothing more than to see You accomplish great and mighty things through Your Word. We ask You to save the lost and open blind eyes … to heal the sick and revive the weary … to encourage, enable, and empower each one who serves You to press on as they contend for the faith. We trust You to plow the soil of hardened hearts as we scatter the precious seed of Your Word. We trust You to give life and hope to all who participate in CBS. It is in the Name of Your Precious Son, the Lord Jesus, that we pray. Amen.
