Ministry Wide Day of Prayer and Fasting
“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away …
“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions … His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ …
We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. Matthew 24:32-35, 45-47; 2 Peter 1:3-8; Romans 15:1-2 ESV
Community Bible Study comes before You, dear Lord, through prayer and fasting, attuned to Your voice so that we will hear You and walk in obedience to our calling. We pray for Your Word to accomplish all that You desire in the lives of every person, around the entire world, whom you have called us to serve. Please bless the work of our hands and make us fruitful as we abide in You. You have provided everything we need to serve You. Give us the faith to believe … keep us steady as we serve … and help us press on for the glory of Your Name ~ In Jesus’s Name, amen.
