MINISTRYWIDE DAY OF PRAYER AND FASTING

Matt Crawford | April 3, 2025

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

When Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said to his disciples, “You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”… He said, “Go into the city to a certain man and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.’” And the disciples did as Jesus had directed them, and they prepared the Passover. When it was evening, he reclined at table with the twelve. And as they were eating, he said, “Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.”…Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”…Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away because of me this night. For it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’…Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go over there and pray.” And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.” (Matthew 26:1-2, 18-21, 26-29, 31, 36-38)

But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.” (Matthew 28:5–6)

He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! (Revelation 22:20)

Dear Heavenly Father, we kneel before You on this ministry-wide day of prayer and fasting. We humbly acknowledge our desperate need of You, for apart from You we can do nothing. We come to watch and pray over the world. We ask for Your blessing over the ministry work of Community Bible study in making disciples of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, by transforming lives through the study of Your Word and by bringing the gospel to those who are lost and without a shepherd. Keep us from stumbling and renew our strength to press on in Your mission work. Give us opportunities to proclaim You and exalt You as we watch and patiently wait for Jesus to come and we say, ~ Come, Lord Jesus! ~ Amen.
