Ministrywide Day of Prayer and Fasting

Matt Crawford | January 2, 2025

“…Then let us bring again the ark of our God to us, for we did not seek it in the days of Saul.” All the assembly agreed to do so, for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people. (1 Chronicles 13:3-4)
I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf, that I may be delivered from the unbelievers in Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints, so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company. (Romans 15:30-32)
“Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far? And yet this was a small thing in your eyes, O Lord God. … There is none like you, O Lord, and there is no God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears. … Now you have been pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever before you, for it is you, O Lord, who have blessed, and it is blessed forever.” (1 Chronicles 17:16b-17a, 20, 27)
The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God. They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the Lord is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. (Psalm 92:12-15)
“…Arise and work! The Lord be with you!” Now set your mind and heart to seek the Lord your God. Arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God.” (I Chronicles 22: 16b, 19a)

Father, as the ministry of Community Bible Study begins this New Year, we come before You on this day of prayer and fasting to ask that You unite our hearts in one purpose. We pray for Your work to be done in and throughout the ministry of CBS. We ask that You fortify what is broken, strengthen what is weak, tear down what is not from You, and establish all our work for Your glory forever. ~ Amen.
