MINISTRYWIDE DAY OF PRAYER AND FASTING
Matt Crawford | May 1, 2025
To God’s elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 1 Peter 1:1-7 NIV
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NIV
Dear heavenly Father, we come to You on this day of prayer and fasting to reflect on our knowledge of You and find rest for our souls in all aspects of ministry and service. We pause to lay aside the weight of things we are carrying, our anxious thoughts, and heaviness in our hearts. We come to seek the refreshment that can only be found in You. Renew our hearts and fan the flame of service in our hearts so we might continue to carry out the vision and mission of Community Bible Study to see lives transformed through the study of Your Word throughout the world. In Your Precious Son’s Name, we pray ~ Amen.
