For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the Lord set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples, but it is because the Lord loves you and is keeping the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations … And because you listen to these rules and keep and do them, the Lord your God will keep with you the covenant and the steadfast love that he swore to your fathers. He will love you, bless you, and multiply you.” Deuteronomy 7:6-9, 12-13a

Father, for 50 years the ministry of Community Bible Study has walked with You in faith. You have gone before us – You have been our foundation and the Rock on which this ministry has been built. We bring our praise and worship to You this day, in remembrance of those beginnings, with gratitude for those who have gone before us. We press on seeking You, Your wisdom, and Your plans for the future of this ministry. We pray that all those who serve now and serve in the future will listen carefully for Your direction, and that the ministry of CBS might continue on Your mission to transform lives in communities throughout the world. In Your Name we pray ~ amen
