For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you. Romans 8:29-30, Ephesians 1:7-10, Jeremiah 31:3b ESV

Ministry-Wide Day of Prayer & Fasting

Oh, great and mighty Father – Lord of all! At one moment in time, we thought we knew what ought to be done, that we could make our own way in this world. We were so wrong. You launched an eternal love named Jesus that landed in our hearts. This love is Grace Incarnate; He is your faithfulness. By giving this darkened world the light of your only Son, born of the power of your Holy Spirit, a young girl received a grace so vast, so expansive, that your angel had to speak a preparatory word of favor over her. We are here, Lord. Community Bible Study welcomes the words you speak to ready us. As the mother of the Christ knew, she had done nothing to deserve such favor and we are overwhelmed by the fact that we haven’t either. You dole out an inheritance upon whom you choose. We, as a ministry and as your children, have been lavished by the riches of your grace. We have been joined to you and one another for eternity because of the generous gift of your Son. As we enter into a season focused on honoring our Savior, it is even more apparent that your plan for the fullness of time always was, and always will be, Jesus. Help us share this truth. We praise and thank you in His mighty and matchless name and shout hosanna! Amen.

Why Pray?

Prayer is the first CBS core value. We pray because:
- God tells us to pray
- Prayer builds our relationship with Jesus
- God responds to our prayers

CBS leaders frequently pray using the A.C.T.S. acrostic:
- Adoration or Praise
- Confession of Our Sins
- Thanksgiving for God's grace, mercy, and provision
- Supplication or Petition for our and others needs
