Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man. For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; thus it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer. Christ Jesus is the one who died — more than that, who was raised — who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Hebrews 8:1-3, Romans 8:34b ESV

Ministry-Wide Day of Prayer & Fasting

God, to you belongs the highest road, the highest calling and the highest praise. The road that you have established for your children is not easy to travel, nor is it the shortest route. The calling you have placed on the lives of your beloved sons and daughters brings each to a place of reckoning – realizing the cost paid for our new lives in Christ and the subtle reminders of the old. You are worthy of our highest praise as you alone are the God who fashioned and breathed life into us. You took what would be trodden upon and considered worthless and made it worthy to walk in your ways. You combined those dust particles and gave them form and function. Today, dear Lord, as Community Bible Study moves in unity, pursuing your mission and vision, we remember that all that we do is for your glory. As we come together to commune with you, O God, we see that your plan for life is not limited to individuals. Yours is a far greater plan to see the corporate body come together and be joined as one in Christ Jesus. We have a high priest who continues the magnificent and unending work of interceding for us, keeping the considerations of the evil one at bay, as we move forward. Let us not forget the power of the breath of life that you gave us, God. It will never end. We offer ourselves up to you as your true tent, Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Why Pray?

Prayer is the first CBS core value. We pray because:
- God tells us to pray
- Prayer builds our relationship with Jesus
- God responds to our prayers

CBS leaders frequently pray using the A.C.T.S. acrostic:
- Adoration or Praise
- Confession of Our Sins
- Thanksgiving for God's grace, mercy, and provision
- Supplication or Petition for our and others needs
