For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. John 1: 16-18; Romans 1:16-20 ESV

Ministry-Wide Day of Prayer & Fasting

Father God, we lift you up as being congruent, steady and immovable. Everything that you put into place is perfect and reflects your will. Even as we make plans, they truly succeed and have lasting significance only when you have ordained them. Today, as the ministry of Community Bible Study earnestly seeks your face, we ask that you remind us of your unending supply of grace. We now belong to you because a miracle happened in our lives. Your grace was extended to us and we have seen your surpassing power according to 2 Corinthians 4:7  “But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us”.  Let us live out our lives in full faith that, just as you heard pleas from the past, you also hear ours. Open the eyes of our hearts to see the beautiful and perfect possibilities that you have placed in every single person with whom we come in contact. We invite your Holy Spirit to lead us in the paths of all righteousness. We lift up the name of the Lord Jesus Christ as the Way, the Truth and the Life. We stand in full agreement with you that there is no other name by which salvation comes. In your powerful and beautiful name we pray, Jesus. Amen.

Why Pray?

Prayer is the first CBS core value. We pray because:
- God tells us to pray
- Prayer builds our relationship with Jesus
- God responds to our prayers

CBS leaders frequently pray using the A.C.T.S. acrostic:
- Adoration or Praise
- Confession of Our Sins
- Thanksgiving for God's grace, mercy, and provision
- Supplication or Petition for our and others needs
