We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves you and has chosen you to be his own people. For when we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance that what we said was true. And you know of our concern for you from the way we lived when we were with you. So you received the message with joy from the Holy Spirit in spite of the severe suffering it brought you … Yet our God gave us the courage to declare his Good News to you boldly, in spite of great opposition … Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts … We loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too … We pleaded with you, encouraged you, and urged you to live your lives in a way that God would consider worthy. For he called you to share in his Kingdom and glory … After all, what gives us hope and joy, and what will be our proud reward and crown as we stand before our Lord Jesus when he returns? It is you! Father God,
Thank You for the family of Community Bible Study servant-leaders around the world, whom You have called to care for Your CBS flock. Thank You for the opportunity to uphold these brothers and sisters before You on this day of ministry-wide prayer and fasting. Thank You for each one’s obedience to Your call. Thank You for inviting them into this ministry of Your Word, which is so dear to Your heart. We ask You to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, shielding them from the lies of the enemy, so that they may shepherd the CBS flock You have entrusted to them with great joy. Please strengthen each of them through Your Word and Your Spirit. Remind each of them of Your deep love, mercy, care, and sovereign power that has been displayed through the finished work of Your perfect Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. We love You Lord, and we commit the entirety of CBS to You. Amen.
