The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. As it is written, “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God. 2 Corinthians 9:6-12 ESV

Ministry-Wide Day of Prayer & Fasting

Father God, you are great and mighty to be praised! We will not forget that it is your hand that guides and your hand that provides. The virtue of giving is a reflection of what you have continually demonstrated in the lives of your children. As Community Bible Study examines its heart, you show us that there is a clear connection between our ability to give with joy and your granting abundance in all things. We do not neglect to do good and to share what we have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to you, God, according to Hebrews 13:16. You, Lord, supply and multiply. You even magnify the purity of our hearts. Today, we ask that you show us any areas where we have fallen short of giving in the manner that delights you. If any among us has held back in any way or set conditions upon our gifts in order to preserve them, please bring it to light. Let our hearts be pure before you, Lord. The gospel of what you accomplished is more than enough! It is your enrichment that causes us to give thanks. We rely on you to show us how to operate in the spirit of charity. We need not worry if there is enough; you are sufficient! We thank and praise you! It is in your matchless name we pray, Jesus, Amen.

Why Pray?

Prayer is the first CBS core value. We pray because:
- God tells us to pray
- Prayer builds our relationship with Jesus
- God responds to our prayers

CBS leaders frequently pray using the A.C.T.S. acrostic:
- Adoration or Praise
- Confession of Our Sins
- Thanksgiving for God's grace, mercy, and provision
- Supplication or Petition for our and others needs
