For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life; Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my sojourning… In your steadfast love give me life, that I may keep the testimonies of your mouth. Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. Your word is a lamp to my feet. And a light to my path. This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

Isaiah 55:10-11; Psalm 119:50, 54, 88, 105; 1 Corinthians 4:1

Lord, Community Bible Study firmly believes that Your Word is powerful for transforming the lives of people. Father, we know that in You, we live and move and have our being. Revive the hearts of our cities and make our communities hungry for Your Word. Bring revival through the rain of Your Word. We do not take the stewardship You have entrusted to us lightly.
In Your powerful name we pray… amen.
