Allan Mchiuno grew up as a Muslim in Malawi. He was a leader who had built six Mosques in his district. All the while, one of his wives was secretly attending CBS. Eventually, she began to preach that Jesus is the Savior, not simply a prophet. His wife would wake up at 4 am each day to pray and study the Bible.
“Her prayers sounded like drums beating in my heart and mind, forcing me to surrender to Jesus,” Allan said. “One day, as she was praying, I heard an unusual voice which spoke to me, saying, ‘Allan, surrender your life to Jesus. He wants to change you from the miserable life you are going through.’ I immediately fell down and started to cry.”
His family came to pick him up and asked what happened. Allan shared his story and called for the CBS leader to lead him to Christ on the 5th of January, 2025.
Since he became a Christian, he has started a CBS group in his community, with 32 Muslims eventually joining.
Allan’s group stepped in to provide shelter and accommodation for his family. Pastor McDonald Nkhoma, part of the CBS Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Servants Team, also provided them with food for three months. Today, Allan and his family have launched four Bible Study Groups in Muslim communities despite the threats they are getting from Muslim leaders.
“We have experienced great love in Christianity,” Allan said. “We have inner peace in Christ, and feel safe in Jesus’s Hands. My family and I will forever serve Him.“
