Community Bible Study classes for adults are offered either during the day or in the evening. Our classes all follow the same format, so you won’t be surprised! And, you can sometimes find a specialized group (like a young adult group, a group for adults with special needs, and a group for non-English speakers) that meets as part of the class.

Here’s what you can expect at an adult Bible study:

  • Classes typically meet once a week for about one-and-half hours in total, over the course of roughly 30 weeks.
  • The study materials you’ll be given contain questions that relate to what’s being studied. Each week you’ll read and answer these questions prior to attending the class.
  • On class day you’ll meet with your discussion group, or core group, to discuss the lesson. Each core group has about 15 people in it, and is facilitated by a trained leader.
  • This is followed by a 15-30 minute large group teaching given by a trained Teaching Director. These teachings, and the written professional commentary that you take home, offer additional insights into the week’s passage. You’ll be challenged to apply what you’ve learned to your daily life.
  • Once-a- month fellowship meals for core groups are incorporated into your class time. These special times of sharing are designed to build relationships between group members.

Bible Study for women

Our day classes are ideal for stay-at-home moms (we offer classes for your children, no matter how young!), those who work part time, or with the flexibility working from home, and retired people. While the majority of our day classes are comprised of a Bible study for women, there are locations that offer core groups for couples and men.

We study the Bible because we want to become disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. In Isaiah 55:11, God says that His word never returns to Him empty, and that it will always accomplish His purpose. God transforms lives through His Word! Our classes are designed to be comfortable and caring places where every person can become confident in studying the Bible. Whether you are new to Bible study or if you have been studying the Bible for many years, we’ll help you learn, grow in faith in Jesus Christ and meet others in your community who share the same desire.

We look forward to meeting you!

Co – ED Evening classes

If you think of a box of M&Ms, you’ve just about summed up our evening adult Bible study classes! We are an eclectic bunch of people: we are families, singles, married couples, divorced, widowed, and young adults. Some of us attend church and some of us don’t; some of us read the Bible every day, and some of us have only just bought a Bible for the first time. The thread that binds us is our desire to know Jesus more and grow in our love for Him.

We want to know God more deeply because He brings peace when life is hectic, and joy and strength when we’re faced with life’s struggles. We want our lives to be transformed and our minds renewed. So come meet new people and be part of our community, as we learn what the Bible is all about and what God’s plan is for each of our lives!

Young adults

Ever wanted to be part of a community where relationships and studying the Bible are a central focus? Well then, come along to our dynamic Young Adult groups that meet at the same time as our other CBS classes. And no, you don’t have to have a PhD in theology or belong to a specific denomination.

The Bible is loaded with insights that are as relevant today as when they were written. By exploring the Bible, we discover the story of a God who has been present with us from the beginning of time – a God who is deeply committed to us and wants us to partner with Him in making the world the best place it can be.

We know that it takes time to feel at home and grow in a new community. That’s why we foster meaningful, Bible-centered relationships that create a willingness to open up and share insights from each person’s diverse life experiences. Through this, we aspire to bring about change, especially in caring for the poor, helpless, and socially disparaged. With genuine personal relationships as our priority, we partner with the Holy Spirit to bring about the sort of transformation that results in an appreciation for life, our fellow human beings, and our world.

We would love to meet you – please feel free to visit us at any time. Join in the dialogue by sharing your story and grow our community!

Special needs

Agape is an in-depth Bible study for adults with special needs who want to study God’s Word together and share His love. We realize that higher functional adults with special needs often get overlooked, so it’s our vision to provide a study environment where you’ll be treated with respect and care.

Agape classes meet alongside existing CBS classes. Our time includes core group discussion, a large group lecture, fellowship with one another, and an integrated time of worship and devotions with the large group. In our core group discussions, we use dramatization, story-telling and hands-on participation to communicate the lessons.

If there isn’t a group for special needs in your area, won’t you consider starting a class?

Non-English speakers

If you’re learning to speak English as a second language, then this specialised CBS group – Ethnos – might be just perfect for you! Our cities, neighborhoods, schools and communities are multicultural, and it’s our desire to bring the life-transforming benefits of an in-depth Bible study to people whose first language is not English.

Ethnos emerged from the heart of our International ministry when it became clear that the translated material we used around the world could benefit the hundreds of thousands of non-English speakers living in the United States. Ethnos meets alongside existing CBS classes and includes all the same aspects as a regular CBS class – except that core group discussions and material are provided in your heart language.

If you’d like to start an Ethnos group alongside a CBS class in your area, we can send you more information.
